Why social pressure is like chemotherapy.

I know I’m a few years late.

It is clear that I am a little late in writing about this. I started watching Breaking Bad during this summer and am still only on the 1st season. While I am very behind the times I still felt this scene, in particular, was worth writing about.

For those of you who don’t remember.

In this scene, Walter’s wife had staged an intervention. She did this because she felt Walter didn’t care about her or the rest of their family due to his not immediately jumping on the opportunity to undergo Chemo Therapy. Skylar gets her feelings off her chest. Then Flynn does the same. Eventually, an argument breaks out and Walter ends it by asserting his true alpha-ness into the situation with an ear-piercing whistle. To watch it click here, then come right back.

What I take away from this.

Walt clearly has a battle raging in his mind. He is trying desperately to make sense of it. His thoughts about what life is were so profound to me. I think it can be applied in many ways. For people facing cancer, he made the point for me. What about people just living life.
