Things Catholics need to remember throughout November.

We can all learn something from visiting a cemetery.

Intro

As most Catholics know, in the first 8 days of November, we have the opportunity to obtain plenary indulgences for the souls in purgatory. That is why we spend time visiting cemeteries to pray for the souls that were laid to rest there. We do this for a few reasons. No one is exempt from the lessons they can learn/reflect on during this time.

Business People

If you are a business person in any capacity, when you visit your local cemetery during the next few days think about this. How many of the people laying in those graves didn’t share their gifts? How many squandered their wealth on things of the world, when it could have been given to The Church or poor. Maybe they had huge potential but were too crippled by fear, or sloth to develop those gifts.

Maybe some of us know the people in these graves. If so did we wrong them in our lives? Did we show them compassion? If we made mistakes, we should ask them to help us do differently in the future.

Young People

When I was at the cemetery on Saturday, I noticed the years on a number of the stones. Many of these people were only on this earth…
