Quarantine in NYC

Que up R.E.M.’s infamous song, pop in Contagion with Matt Damon, and grab a beer because it’s gonna be a long ride.

Intro

Over this past week, I think I have received messages from at least 13 different people from back home hoping that I’m alright throughout these crazy times.

I want to say thank you. While it has gotten annoying, it also is very good to know that people haven’t forgotten I existed.

I’ll give an update on how this week went highlighting the big things because it was mostly characterized by work, again.

The big events

Our work has slowed down to a degree due to COVID19. A lot of companies have put on hiring freezes which is annoying but overall we are focusing on the companies that are still growing. We will have a lot in the pipeline due to our groundwork now.

The governor ordered 50% of the workforce to stay home and all restaurants to only deliver. Then later he decided 100% of non-essential workers need to stay home. That was kind of nuts if you think about it. NYC alone has a population of over 8 million people.

As you can imagine, the city seems almost like a ghost town because most people are staying at home. Don’t get me…
