… supporting my subject, my legs would have names. This might seem funny, but I can see myself as a stool because of my three main traits that I believe make up who I am. Those three skills are what help me support my colleagues, hit the curve balls life sends me, and succeed at my job. The names to my three legs or pillars are, Drive, Adaptivity, and Relationship Building.
Drive is a major part of who I am because I developed it in my childhood. At the beginning of my last summer as a child (age 17) I was faced with four large tasks. (1) Helping my father in his Cabinet shop about 30 hours a week. (2) Completing the construction of an outdoor set of stone steps (I had never done this and didn’t have Google). (3) building a fence for our chickens. and (4) the completion of 11thgrade. I was only about 75% of the way through 11th grade. This was due to the amount of business my father acquired during the school year. With all of this ahead of me I knew I would have to work hard. I planned to leave when I turned 18. That meant I would not be able to complete those tasks the following summer. So, I resolved to work very hard and get it done. I planned out the number of steps I had to complete each week in order to be finished before the harsh Wisconsin winter would hit. I worked time into my schedule to finish the chicken fence as well.
