Family is a six-letter word.

What does it mean?

Is it your close friends?

Is it your immediate family?

Is it your blood relatives?

Your close friends,

While not blood of your blood,

They’re your true buds.

They might be rough,

Around the edges.

Keeping their persona tough,

But their love is so endless.

This is not to discredit the people,

Who have lived and cried,

Laughed and lied,

Been with you through it all,

They helped you build the steeple.

The steeple that you are.

You stand tall,

Weathering rain and snow,

Constant as the ticking of time,

Calling people to God.

Without your family,

You would be so alone,

Searching for a place in the world.

Turning over stone after stone,

To find people to help you,
