I’m gonna do a real quick spit here. I just read Never Eat Alone which was actually recommended to me nearly 2 years ago by one of the founders of the company I currently work for.
The fact I didn’t read it sooner makes me sad. I highly recommend reading it is the point and here are the bullet points that I jotted down while listening to it on audible.
Who should read this?
The short answer is everyone but ESPECIALLY young people. If you are in high school or just going into college, basically if you care at all about your career, read this book. Psst…if you’re a parent, force your high schoolers to read it this month.
Bullet Points + ~context:
- ppl help their friends do more biz — essentially, if you’re friends with ppl there is a high chance you’ll do more business with them
- Networking is abt making other ppl more successful — if you go to a networking meeting seeking to gain something for yourself, stop it…get help. The purpose is to see how you can help others. The goal isn’t just to collect a bunch of business cards. You’re better off gaining 2 meaningful connections than 50 forgettable encounters.
