A Non-Traditional Guide for ’24 Graduates to Land a Job in Climate or Sustainability

If you’re paying attention, and I’m sure you are if you read last month’s How to Become a 10x Employee post, you’ll notice that this month’s title is not what I said I would write about last month 🤷 — What can I say, I came up with another idea that will help out the graduates a lot more. Corporates and hiring managers… you’ll have to wait till the next issue to get my “Things for Climate Companies to Consider While Making 2024 Hiring Plans” post (I promise I will get to it).

The reason we are covering today’s guide for grads of ’24 is, that they will likely have a bit of time off during the upcoming Christmas and New Year season, and we want to help them get ahead for the spring. Partially I was also inspired by the questions I got after speaking with some of the Columbia Students in November.

Many soon-to-be graduates are uncertain, given the state of the economy, and for those focused on ESG, the political blow-back that is happening now is causing the delay of the SEC’s disclosure rules. So, I wanted to offer some insights that have worked well for me and many of the friends I’ve made through Discover Praxis.

The guide I’ll lay out today applies to things other than just landing a job — it could be applied in a similar way to land new clients…
